Daily Devotion 2012/09/26

Actually, I rareeely post my daily devotion
However my current study on 1 Peter does interest me so much

Here we go, 1 Peter 2:19

For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.

Thankworthy/ Grace (charis) : Grace, of the merciful kindness by which God, exerting his holy influence upon souls, turns them to Christ, keeps, strengthens, increases them in Christian faith, knowledge, affection, and kindles them to the exercise of the Christian virtues
Conscience (suneidesis): the consciousness of anything
Endure (hupophero): to bear patiently
Grief (lupe): sorrow, pain, grief, annoyance, affliction
Suffering (pascho): in a bad sense, to suffer sadly, be in a bad plight
Wrongfully (adikos): unjustly, undeserved, without fault

Barnes' Notes on the Bible
For this is thank-worthy - Margin, "thank." Greek, "This is grace," (χάρις charis). Doddridge renders the expression, "This is graceful indeed." Various interpretations of this expression have been proposed; but the meaning evidently is, that it is acceptable to God, (see 1 Peter 2:20, "this is acceptable to God" - χάρις παρὰ Θεῷ charis para Theō;) that is, this will be regarded by him with favor.

It's such a grace if someone, with their own consciousness towards GOD, they bear anything that hurts, causes pain and sorrow, due to something unjust

Judgement is not in human's hands, it's in God's
Never be a judge
Endure affliction because of God
Nothing ever slip aways from His eyes, so maintain your integrity under pressure

Daily Devotion

A short devotion of mine today was studied from 1 Peter 1:17

And remember that the heavenly Father (Pater) to whom you pray (epikaleomai) has no favorites. He will judge or reward you according to what you do (ergon) . So you must live in reverent fear (phobos) of him during your time (chronos) as "foreigners in the land."

Address/pray (epikaleomai): to cry out upon, as witness.
Father (Pater): Male ancestor.
Fear (phobos): sense of awe.
Work (ergon): any thing accomplished by hand

I posted this on my facebook today and here's an additional points :D
According to this verse, Peter stated clearly that the GOD is called Father (denying any possibility of God the Mother)

I personally take an interest in word 'epikaleomai', in simple english it means 'to address'.
Do you usually address God daily? No? You should start doing it
Yes? How do you address Him?
Many people address God without understanding the real deep meaning of the word being used here.
Epikaleomai (1941) means:

to put a name upon, to surname
to permit one's self to be surnamed
to be named after someone
to call something to one
to cry out upon or against one
to charge something to one as a crime or reproach
to summon one on any charge, prosecute one for a crime
to blame one for, accuse one of
to invoke
to call upon for one's self, in one's behalf
any one as a helper
as my witness
as my judge
to appeal unto
to call upon by pronouncing the name of Jehovah
an expression finding its explanation in the fact that prayers addressed to God ordinarily began with an invocation of the divine name
To invoke God, as MY witness/judge
You are permitted to having conversation with Him, to complain about anything, spending a quality Father-Son/Daughter time.
But let me guide you to this point: While you're addressing Him, you're actually inviting Him to be your witness of your whole life

Can you be confident in Him like David? He asks God to help him solve his problems, to defeat his enemies in such a confident way, because David always asks God to test his life beforehand.
Even he is prepared to bear the consequences of living wrongly in front of God

Moreover, when you're calling for Him, are you still in awe?
Are you finding that to address Him is joyless? You (we) should check our life, thinking, and asking God for more help

Afterall, living 'according to your own thinking' is not possible in God, you are responsible for what you do (ergon) during your time on earth (chronos).
Are you with Him or are you not? No neutral zone

Short Culinary Trip

Thanks to the Sudrajats for today's culinary trip to Bentong
Not so many photos, because none of us is a usually-taking-photo person :P
To be precise, we visitted the location of KKR Orang Asli, Chicken Rice, Kow Po Ice Cream, TF Mini Market, and Penang Char Kwe Tiau.
I love the Char Kwe Tiau's spicy sauce and the roasted pork the most huohohoho

Perfect timing while Kak Dicky was photobombing this photo
Indeed it was a sudden, short yet fun trip with Kak Dicky, Kak Vency, their princess: Olivia and the another guest: Ce Karina

Warrior (2)

I can't ever deny that I'm so in love with Japanese culture since I was a kid
Japanese's martial arts, culinary, history and stuffs like that

I love the story during ninja-samurai period
Each of them has their own master
A really important master, be it the shogun, emperor, leader or even their own ideology

To live and die for it, isn't that wonderful? (forgive me but I think it is hahaha)
Better to die while fighting for something you hold dear, than to live your life without any meaning

Plus, one of my strength (I'm simply stating an obvious fact :P) is my loyalty
I'm faithful to those I love, to those I care for
That's why this topic is extremely vital for my life
1. Do you stay loyal, when you are in your comfort zone?
2. Who is your master?

First point,
Following my previous post, Phil 1:21 is one of my life-changing principle
It's my highest honour to die for something I keep with all my life,
It's obvious, if you die, it means you've finished your part here (in the world)
You do not need to fight anymore, it's simple an eternal rest
Paul even said "To die is gain"

Many warriors were proved skillful in the war, but not all of them have a great character and stay loyal
How to train those aspects? Simple, test and examine your life outside of the battlefield, during the peaceful time. Do you live righteously? Maintain your integrity and support your master?

Basically, without those things above, a warrior or even a hero is nothing but a peacebreaker
It's not just about how you die on the battlefield, but also how you have been living your whole life

Secondly,

Who is the master you are serving? Yourself? Your family? World?
A warrior will fight for bad purpose even if he is loyal, strong, faithful... It's simply because he is serving a wrong master and many examples of this case have happened at the past
People can make a wrong decision, even the masters themselves

Paul also stated: To live is Christ
Concluding some things I've been taught (and what I've taught to my fellows), having Christ in you means having an intimate relationship with Him, the Righteous Master

Anyway, we are on the battlefield RIGHT NOW
Be ready in all timeguard your heart and let's finish well

Warrior on Battlefield

"I was born to be a warrior"
I used to think like this (even until now)

Warrior means 'a person who is engaged in battle'
Yes, I do love peace and try to maintain it as what the Bible said at Ephesian 4:3
But I also love the atmosphere of the battlefield in things such as futsal tournament, football competition, boxing match etc
I even learn boxing just to feel THAT feeling when you are in the middle of rain of punches. You try to dodge each of them, receive some blows, trying to hold your stance and do counterattacks, it should be awesome hahaha (forgive this boxing-otaku conversation)

I'm not a typical 'staying at home' guy
I must, have to, am obliged to go out and look for new adventures
I can not stay still, wait, sitting on my couch and spend my time in my room (which I usually do after entering Monash -_-)

I'm willing to die (literally die) for something I hold dear, I'm grateful that Christ has saved me long before I made a 'wrong decision' in my life.
Now that my life is not my own , I've committed my life for Him

Until now, I learned that my calling is in Apologetic Teachings
An area in which I may lose my life in literal meaning
To join this kind of movement means to be a frontier
Deal with all kind of people, most probably be refused, marked as an idiot and chances to die young (what a hateful world we're living in)

Too bad, some so-called Church Leaders might not have this same idea with me
Not to say one should live carelessly and simply die
Again, your life is not your own

Be a warrior in everything you do, because life is a battlefield anyway
Don't expect peace without fighting for it

Hisashiburi Da Na

Hellow...
Been a while (oops) since I wrote something on this blog

If last time I 'care' more about my tumblr than this blog, this time I 'care' neither hahaha
Recently many things happened, which needed to be taken care of

I'll do the posting some other times, because I'm not planning to close this  full of spiderweb blog like I did during my high school :P

Originally I planned to use some media to share some deep teachings (about theology, philosophy, etc) but well, I'm too lazy busy with many tasks I've been given.

Sooo, yeah, hope I'm still able to write some good(?) writing after taking a really long break
